Why this matters
Most tutors are hired for what they know.
Subject knowledge is the easy part to find. A math major, an engineer, a strong Grade 12 student — plenty of people can solve the question on your child's worksheet. Far fewer can work out why your child couldn't, and fix it. That second skill has a name. It's a teaching qualification, and it takes years.
Diagnosis
We find the gap, not the answer
A Grade 11 student failing functions is usually carrying a Grade 9 problem with fractions or signs. Showing them today's answer patches the symptom. Our tutors are trained to trace the error back to where it started and rebuild from there.
Curriculum
We teach the course they're actually in
Our tutors complete practicum placements in Ontario schools. They know the units, the pacing, how a culminating task is weighted, and what the exam looks like — because they've marked one.
Independence
We work toward not being needed
The goal is a student who can start the next problem set alone. That means less doing it for them and more making them try first, which is slower, less comfortable, and the only thing that lasts.

What we cover
Every course, taught by someone who specialises in it.
Breadth is only worth anything if the person who shows up actually knows the subject. We don't send a math tutor to cover chemistry. Every request is matched to a tutor whose teachable subject it is — and if we don't have that person, we'll tell you rather than improvise.

How it works
Three steps, and one of them is free.
A 30-minute call with you
Not a sales call, and not with your child. We ask what the last report card said, what's been tried already, and what you're actually worried about. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so on that call.
A tutor matched to the course
We pick for the specific course and the specific student, not whoever happens to be free on Tuesday. First session, in person or online, is a diagnostic — we find out where the gap really starts.
Weekly sessions and a note home
After every session you get a short written summary: what was covered, what's still shaky, what's next. You never have to ask your teenager how it went and settle for "fine."
What good looks like
Not every student moves the same way.
But the ones who improve most have something in common: they started early in the semester, they came weekly rather than only before a test, and somebody found the actual gap instead of drilling the same worksheet harder. Real numbers go here once we have a semester behind us — we'd rather leave this blank than make one up.

One published rate. No packages you can't leave.
You should be able to see what tutoring costs before you talk to anybody. Rates are by grade band, not by how much we think you can pay.

No registration fee. No minimum commitment. Cancel a session with 24 hours' notice and you're not charged. If you're not happy with your first session, you don't pay for it.
Fair questions
The things parents ask us.
My child can just ask an AI chatbot. Why pay for this?
A chatbot will answer any question your child asks it, instantly, correctly, and without ever checking whether they learned anything. That is very useful for finishing homework and close to useless for passing an exam.
What we sell is the part software can't do: a person who notices your child is nodding along without understanding, makes them try it themselves before showing them, and tells you honestly how it's going. Most of our students use AI too. We just make sure it isn't doing the thinking for them.
There's a tutor in my neighbourhood who charges less. What am I paying for?
Usually a real difference in training. A strong student or a working engineer knows the answer. Someone who has completed a teaching program has been trained specifically in why students get things wrong and what to do about it, and has been assessed on it in a real classroom.
If price is the deciding factor, a good inexpensive tutor is genuinely better than no tutor. We'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
What if my child doesn't get along with the tutor?
Tell us and we'll switch, at no cost and without a conversation about why. Fit matters more in tutoring than in almost anything else, and a student who dreads Tuesday at 5pm will not learn on Tuesday at 5pm.
In person or online?
Both. We have tutors across the GTA — Toronto, York Region, Peel and Durham — who can come to you or meet at a library. Online works well for Grade 11 and 12 students who are self-directed. For younger students, in person is usually worth it.
How are tutors screened?
Every tutor holds a current vulnerable sector police check and is either an Ontario Certified Teacher or an OISE teacher candidate in an active program. We interview and run a teaching sample with each one before they meet a student. Registration numbers are available on request.
You list a lot of courses. Can you really staff all of them?
Not every course, every week. We match on teachable subject, so if the specialist for your child's course is fully booked, we'll tell you that on the call and give you a realistic date rather than putting a maths tutor in front of a chemistry problem.
We also work with schools, sports clubs and community organizations that want group academic support attached to what they already run. Ask us.
